Xmas for troops

Hey all, just thought I’d let you know I haven’t dropped off the face of the planet. Between deer season (I bagged a buck and two does, left handed mind you), Thanksgiving, the nasty snow and cold, my truck breaking (the transmission broke), and school (totally kicking my butt but only two weeks left!) I haven’t had time to do much of anything. Hence the reason I haven’t written.

I see a lot of people making cards for the troops right now. That’s great and all, but if you want them to actually get there by Christmas you need to leave at least two weeks of mail time in between. Some mail we got as fast as 6 days, while some took up to 3 weeks. With the holidays, you can expect it to take longer. What should you send for gifts? Anything to pass the time. New magazines (anything with girls is a plus), new movies, munchy food they cant get at the PX, posters of hot girls (to decorate their hooch), etc. Save on the tooth paste, shampoo, and razors. We had tons of it, and all we have to do is go to the PX to buy it. Send something you can’t get over there. The latest movies and games (x-box, psp, computer games, whatever your soldier has) pictures/dvds from home (of friends, family, and most importantly of all, lovers), food to munch on (favorite harder to find/local treats are best, you can buy Hershey’s, M&Ms, and Doritos at the PX), footballs, basketballs, squirt guns (great in the summer!), just fun general stuff to pass the time. Any questions? Ask in the comments section.
